[b?_052] Misiaczek - Podrzut nowoczesny i współczesny
(minimal post-punk)

"(...)Recently some cousins from Sławków came in France ( they called me Misiaczek, i dont' know why ;-) )(...)" Misiaczek wrote me when i asked him about the provenance of his name. For quite a long time I'm really in love with that guy's music. This is the second time we cooperate with the great french label SUPER MOYEN les disques (first one was the Tronslard & Pantrel's release). Misiaczek presents a brilliant mixture of 10 pop songs based on his characteristic post punk lyrics (like the one about tough times for florists) and unique, well-produced music. He also sent me some words he wrote about this album. Here you are:
When the Polish netlabel By?em Kobieta Records asked me to propose them a project, I had just
finished «Fait Tarzan et vive la France». And while I was doing this disc for Super Moyen les disques, I
wanted to release a part of this work as a draft, a step of work, titled « Allegorical precipitate of modern and
contemporary clean-and-jerk ». So to answer the By?em Kobieta Records request, I took somehow this
idea, but working with the scraps, the left-overs of ideas that were not used in «Fait Tarzan et vive la
France». These ideas have, of course, triggered other new ideas. The title « modern and contemporary
Clean-and-jerk » is not really related with the disc, except for some «violence» present in the 10 titles. It is
the first track «Aesthetics puke» that set the tone of the disc.
So I tried to keep this coloring in mind for the disc, the sound of an old beat box, keyboard and bass often
evoking the 8 bits, very simple repetitive things and Lo-Fi.
1 - Prologue This long introduction is from a science fiction novel that I wrote when I was teenager. It is
about a man in agony who discovers, sensitivity to sounds and experimental music making creaking doors
such as Pierre Henry. And finally it's like he played his funeral oration, Tronslard & Pantrel took care to «
dress up » this text.
2 - L’esthétique dégueule «Aesthetics puke» is a pun (in French) with the title of the book «Hegel’s
Aesthetics». This song says that a party turning into a brawl may be much more fun than a boring party.
3 - Warum warum The story of someone who suffers from an injustice. Because he thinks that he’s not in
his place in a kind of military jubilee, strong parade or carnival (that might seem like a painting by James
Ensor...). The guy is motivated by revenge. «Warum Warum» is like an echo of «De l’allure à Collioure»
another of my song on «Fait Tarzan et vive la France». Ludmilla Blaat joined me on this track, and seems
to be the voice of reason, but the sound of her escarpins (high heels) leads us to the «Epilogue». In the
short dialogue with Ludmilla Blaat, there is a kind of wink to the french films of the Nouvelle vague.
4 - Gens sont tristes A rustic and flower music, This song says «These are tough times for florists, people
are tough people are sad».
5 - Odcienie First, a title based on the nuances of speech sounds in polish that may be very difficult for a
french. Second, I thought France was the only country in Europe which the Président could insult a citizen,
but there is a polish translation of the famous «Casse-toi pauvre con !» of Nicolas Sarkozy.
6 - La grande Ourse This song talk about submission, enslavement, but the main character is convinced
he is still able to achieve the impossible like, picking a star...
7 - AŁA, AŁA, AŁA Polish translation of the title «Aïe Aïe Aïe» from a precedent release «La Fantaisie des
biches» 2007. Title minimalist, humourous sadomasochistic.
8 - Washing Machine This song was certainly knitted after seeing the movie «Playboy Communiste» about the life of homeless. There is also a play on the proximity between the sounds «Washing Machine» and «Le chien d’ma chienne» which amused me.
9 - Hey, Bomberos Nothing to say, especially if you get to see the figure of a lifeguard or a firefighter,
watching the girls on the beach when everyone seems to flare up around him.
10 - The Epilogue Having reached the end of this disc Ludmilla Blaat delivers a personal experience...
